BatCAT: 2nd Consortial Meeting was a success

One year after the BatCAT project kick-off, the second in-person consortial meeting will take place at RPTU in Kaiserslautern at the end of 2024. BatCAT aims to create a digital twin for battery manufacturing by 2027 through the development of an overarching data space of two technologies: Li-ion and Li-S button cells and redox flow batteries. The seamless collaboration between the project’s 18 partner organizations enables an interoperable digital twin platform for the development of battery cell design and manufacturing.

By the end of next year, IndiScale will implement a data and knowledge management system (DKMS) with the help of LinkAhead. Specifically, LinkAhead will be used at the sites of four BatCAT partners in four countries and will collect metadata and data from experiments, simulations and modeling, as well as battery cell production lines and analyses.

We are primarily developing important features for the project’s data infrastructure and are using LinkAhead as a core component of the overall architecture. This means that the main part of the development will be completed by the end of next year,”

says Timm Fitschen about the consortium meeting. For the remaining duration of the project, IndiScale will evaluate and validate the improvements and oversee the technical side of data management within the project.

This project is receiving funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program under grant agreement No 101137725.
