Press release: IndiScale supports monitoring study on violence against women
An alarming assessment: The ‘Monitor Violence against Women’ shows the need for action to curb gender-specific violence based on a comprehensive data analysis.
The German Institute for Human Rights was commissioned by the Federal Government to report on the implementation of the Istanbul Convention on combating gender-based violence against women and girls. To this end, the recently published ‘Monitor Violence against Women’ compares the requirements of the Convention with the actual situation in Germany in selected areas.
In addition to analysing the current legal situation, the study also includes the evaluation of empirical data on the topics of prevention, protection and counselling, protection against violence and further training at federal state level. The data management company IndiScale GmbH (located in Göttingen) designed an online input mask for the data collection. This enables different organisations to enter data in parallel via secure access points. A connection to the LinkAhead data management software also ensures that the data can be used for future measures to curb gender-based violence.
The lead developer at IndiScale for this project, Daniel Hornung, adds:
We are proud that our open source data management solution LinkAhead is being used in such an important project. We are working well with the German Institute for Human Rights to implement future-proof data management there.”
